The distance between this device and the projection surface must be a minimum of 30 inches (0.8 meters) and a maximum of 120 inches (3.18 meters) to get a projection image from 30 to 120 inches. For the best result, set the projector between 63 and 104 inches away.

How do I cast content from my phone?

"Method 1: ChromecastYou can use Chromecast to cast content from both an iPhone and an Android phone.First, ensure that your phone or computer and Solar are connected to the same WiFi network. When the app is playing a video, click the Chromecast button (located at the top of the display) to search for a Chromecast-compatible device. I decided I didn’t need the portable version so went for the wired version.
Excellent bit of kit. I use a cream roller blind to project on and have no complaints.
I have a fire stick but prefer to use my Apple TV+. I found I can download the SKY GO app which is unavailable on the fire stick.
Thoroughly recommend the Solar, I’m sure the portable version is exactly the same.

Fantastic picture quality

I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems fantastic. It's like having our own home cinema. The colour is great, the apps on the projector are easy to use, the pixels are v smooth. The sound from the projector is fine, but we hook up with our own speaker system as its a bit better. We have a green wall (light green) and thought we'd need to put up a screen, however, it colour corrects, which was an unexpected bonus.

Requires internet connection & google account

Purchased as an HDMI output device for pre-installed DLNA media system. On initial boot up, required google account to progress from boot screen, as usual created trash gmail account, but yet another account to track and/or slurping my personal data.
Added Prime, VLC, Home assistant and Steam link without problems (though of course Google apps hold the prominent UI positions). Steam link requires Xbox controller plugged into USB, neither Nebula app (use phone as trackpad) or remote allow mouse movement.

Coming from a £50 black Friday 800x640 LED projector, the visual and audio quality is crazy good. The fan is exceptionally quiet, but can ramp up when the projector CPU is under load. You can just plonk this down on any horizontal surface , pointing at a wall within 20 degrees parallel .to the front of the projector and you'll get a crisp, square image anywhere between 250mm and 4+ meters away. Colours are bright and saturated even during shaded daylight, with screendoor visible only under close inspection.

As with all Anker products I've purchased, the product appears well built and comprehensively certified, with an exceptional attention to design detail that extends to a unique tactile (hard plastic that feels like silicone/velvet) remote control.

Besides not being able to use the projector without a google account, my only other criticisms are the lack of backlight on the remote control, which is a bit of an oversight for a device meant to be used in the dark. Also the phone app is pretty much junk, with the remote being 100% more useable as a controller.

Great Projector

I was only looking for a garden proctor but using as a home cinema, it’s fantastic. Loads of features and amazing picture. Ended up also buying a Astro for the garden!!
